We also wish we could up and move to the middle of nowhere and live the simple life. Following are tons of pictures. I didn't feel like doing a slide show.
My Great Great Great Grandfather Hiram Theron Spencer is listed among the members of the Martin/Willie Rescue Company.
The kids were able to pull a little handcart by themselves! Bradyn is along for the ride.
We met Oscar, the famous dog from July's issue of "The Friend." He gets very tired from accompanying the trekkers on their treks.
I happened to catch a picture of the kids relaxing in the back of the wagon. Too cute!
Forging the River, it was harder than I thought it would be. Brady kept telling me to dig in.
One of the wards from Colorado loaded their wagons for the Trek. This is not common. The trekkers usually pull empty wagons. I am amazed at the faith of our youth and the example of their leaders.
We learned to square dance. The Elder's are teaching us the Virginia Reel. It was so much fun.
I just love these two pictures. You couldn't take the handcarts up to the cove. Bradyn got a free ride most of the way, but at one point he wanted to stretch his legs. He is daddy's little buddy!

Oh my gosh, how awesome! Looks like you had a great time. I love all the pictures. I'm so impressed you trekked with the kids. They are real troopers. Something you will remember forever. And to remember your ancestors along the way. Your parents are such great examples. I'm sure it was fun to see them serve! Thanks for sharing your fun :)
What a neat experience for all of you.
What a great experience for you and your family. I love the pics! Glad you enjoyed it!
In all my years, I have never done a trek. It looks like it was a grand adventure and one that they will always remember!
Wow - what a fabulous experience for your family. That is something I've always wanted to do!
Wow that's awesome! Looks like you had a blast!
What fun memories you made and I bet the experiences of the pioneers will mean that much more to your kids as they grow and look back on this adventure.
