Mom of the Year!

We all have our moments as mothers right? Be them good or bad, they happen. Tonight was definitely NOT one of my better moments. I DETEST ballgame nights. Brady is coaching, Lexi and Bradyn are impossible to manage if I want to focus on the game. They want me to focus on them and if I ignore them, they become DEVILS and tonight was the worst of the worst. It was cold and windy, SURPRISE, not, I live in Hurricane. Anyway, Bradyn wanted to be in the car because it was cold. That would be fine if he would sit there. Oh no, lets try and climb everything possible. Lexi was actually pretty good, but she started wanting attention and kept coming and opening the car door and talking to me and getting things in and out of the car. Mind you, its cold and I am trying to watch the ballgame. I finally got mad at her, told her to get on the grass and proceeded to pull the door shut. Miss smarty pants reached to hold the door open and WHAM, her thumb gets slammed in it, by MOM of the YEAR, right in front of everyone at the ball field! AWESOME! I then lost any patience I may have had left. Bradyn was still using the car as his jungle gym. I threw him in the naughty seat he CANNOT get out of and added the sh word for good measure (oh, nice the car door is open). I have no compassion on Lexi, who wasn't listening and had she been, would not have been injured. She could bend her thumb so I told her to get in the car and thank goodness the game was about over. She was sobbing, Bradyn was screaming that he wanted out, and I was exasperated. We are all better now. Lexi has a rather large thumb. I can just imagine her at school tomorrow when her teacher asks her what happened. "My mom shut it in the car door." I win MOM of the YEAR!

I know and believe you're mom of the year ALWAYS! You know what's most funny about your story? Karly came home and didn't say a word about any of it! Too funny!

We all have those "MOM of the YEAR" moments. Thankfully our kids always graciously forgive us :)
