This is for Destri

I have not blogged since the 10th. It is now the 22. That might be a record for me. My friend Destri, informed me in no uncertain terms that I need to update. Here we go!Since Lexi's Fancy Nancy Party: My in-laws came to visit from Florida. Lexi asked Grandma Charmian to come specifically for her birthday. What grandma is going to say no to that! We had a fun weekend playing Rock Band and eating too much food.

We went to Texas Roadhouse and you would think I had never had melt in your mouth prime rib before. I ate the WHOLE thing, sides and all. I was purely miserable after, but oh did it taste good. Lexi kept reminding the waitress it was her birthday and finally got to sit on the saddle. It was a fun weekend and we hope they come back soon.

Lexi's birthday started Friday and lasted until Monday. We went to Jumpin Jacks for family night. When I first walked in I thought LAME-O, there is no way we are going to be entertained for 3 hours. Bradyn was scared and wouldn't let go of me. Gradually, over the next hour, I decided it wasn't to bad and we would probably splurge and come back again. The kids loved it. I have no photos. I took my camera, but Brady was working, so not enough hands to do it all. Bradyn did get brave and start going down the huge slide without me.
Amongst all of that I received a call from my dad that my grandmother was in the hospital with pneumonia and probably not going to make it. That was a slap in the face. I am very close to my grandmother. Even though she is 91, I wasn't ready for that news. She has been rather healthy until now. That news brought on a lot of tears and a five mile run. Running is very therapeutic. I decided to do the big hill. If that didn't get my stress out nothing would. The hill kicked my butt. I started crying on the way up as memories flooded my mind, which killed my breathing and made me start to hyper ventilate. I had to stop and walk. Once at the top I was humbled and back in control. I ran the last mile home. Four days later my dad and I made the trip over to Denver to see her. She is now out of the hospital and doing much better. We have to move her into a home with 24 hour care, but that is ok. The home she is moving to is amazing and I feel great knowing someone will be there with her all the time. That may be the last time I see her, but I think I have made peace with that. The trip was long and stressful. I was without my children for five days. I have never been away from them for that long. It was good to hug them all and see their happy faces. Lexi called me nonstop and Bradyn decided it was fun to talk to mom on the phone. Thank goodness for cell phones. It makes you feel not so far away.
In the middle of all that, my primary secretary unexpectedly moved a month sooner that expected. I had to learn the art of delegating. I know my counselors are happy to fill in. I just felt so bad dumping everything on them. Thanks to Traquel and Andrea for running primary for the last two weeks.
My body has not adjusted from all the craziness of the last two weeks and I am trying to get back to normal life. Honestly, I cannot complain and know I am very blessed. We attended church in Denver and it is amazing how the gospel is the same anywhere you go. The ward was great, the people were amazing and I felt at home, even though I wasn't. I don't know what I would do without the knowledge of the gospel and the Savior to pull me through.
Destri, you are now up to date as is everyone else! Thanks for caring!

You sound busy. It's what keeps life exciting though. I hope your grandma continues to do well. Losing relatives is so hard. Keep smiling and running. Oh how I wish I had the energy to do that.
