O Holy Night

We had a very spiritual sharing time in primary Sunday and I thought I would post it, if anyone wants to use it for FHE or Christmas. The music really creates the mood. I had a hard time getting through it without shedding a couple tears. The kids were so reverent.
All you need is a nativity or a flannel story board of the nativity and either a piano with the childrens song book or a primary cd.
Read the following as you put together the nativity or story board with Away in a Manger playing in the background. When it says sing, include everyone in singing.

And it came to pass that there was a decree that all the world should be taxed. And Joseph and Mary went up to the city of Bethlehem to be taxed.

Sing "When Joseph went to Bethlehem"

Now there was no room for Joseph and Mary at the Inn so they stayed in a stable with the sheep and the other animals.
And while they were there, Mary gave birth to her first-born son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger.

Sing "Away in a Manger"

That same night a brilliant star appeared in the heavens and shone down upon the Christ child.
There were shepherds in the field keeping watch over their flocks by night.

Sing "There was Starlight on the Hillside" verse's 1&2

An angel of the Lord came upon the shepherds and said, “Fear not, for unto you is born this day, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”
The shepherds said one unto another, let us now go unto Bethlehem and see this thing which is come to pass. And they found the babe lying in a manger.

And behold, there were also three Wise Men who saw the star and followed it until they came to the place where the Christ child was. And when they saw the young child with Mary his mother, they fell down and worshipped him: and presented unto him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

An there was a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Sing "Silent Night"

I will have to do this for FHE on Monday! Thanks! New ideas are always welcome. Especially ones that make you tear up. Too often they're fun and games that pass for FHE:)
