Tattle Turtle!

Thank you Lacee! If any of you read Lacee's comment re: my tattling post it works. Her mom is a first grade teacher and got tired of the kids tattling. She hung a picture of a turtle on the wall and told the kids to tell the tattle turtle. I actually have a stuffed turtle from when I was little. It is a keepsake. We put it in the corner in the front room, told the kids they are not allowed to tattle to us. If they have to tattle, tell the tattle turtle. It so worked! Lexi goes and tattles to it. The best part is, she pretends she is the turtle and responds. Wyatt realizes it is silly, but he goes and talks to it just to be funny. It has pretty much eliminated tattling. Lexi came up to me this morning and said, "Mom, I am not tattling. I really have to tell something. Wyatt has a bloody nose." Very valid comment, not something the tattle turtle can fix. Bradyn obviously likes to ride it. Yeah! Thank you Lacee!

Now I know what Lexi was talking about. I thought I had it figured out, but I'm glad to read your blog to get the whole picture. I'm going to try this. I think it will really help Karly. I'm sure Brin will do what Bradyn does. But it sounds awesome! Thanks!

wow I'm glad it worked for ya! I love it when she came up to tell you she wasn't tattling! I'll give the kudos to my mom and let her know. Looks like i'll have to invest in a turtle for the wall when the time comes :)
