I just have to pay tribute to my parents for a moment. First of all, thanks for lunch today mom! My mom always takes my sister and I to lunch if we are in town. Usually, we have a few kids along and it can be a bit chaotic. It is always good company and lots of fun. My mother has been out of town for two weeks and is leaving again next week. Today she took me to Olive Garden. Left me her car, so I didn't have to use my gas. I left my kids at home and expected my sister to come along. She didn't today. It was just my mom and I enjoying a nice lunch. It was great! Thanks for being my mom and my friend.
My parents are card addicts. They love to play cards, especially my dad. I don't watch t.v. in the evenings very often and my parents have Tivo. So that leaves our evenings open for entertainment. Unfortunately, with kids it is hard to get together with friends because of going to bed etc. So my parents usually come over 2 plus nights a week after the kids go to bed, and we play Canasta. This has been going on for 1 1/2 years. We love it and I will miss it when they go on a mission. We have probably bought a guesstimated 10 decks of Canasta cards in that time period. The more you play, the more the cards stick together. Thanks mom and dad! We love you old fogies!

Sounds like you have a really kind and loving mom. That is so great! I love card games too - I never tried canasta but I bet its a fun one! My favorite is Nertz.
